What an absolutely wonderful time we had on the Annapurna Trek ...The WE staff and especially Dilli the tour leader were great. I can’t speak highly enough of them. Dilli was very knowledgeable, helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The cook did a great job. The food was plentiful and tasty.
From the time we left home until the time we got back everything ran smoothly. Even the weather was good. I thoroughly enjoyed my time in Nepal and hope to get back there in the future...I have no hesitation in recommending WE to friends.
Free the Bears Fund Inc.
Free the Bears Fund Inc and World Expeditions started working closely together in October 2004 and organised their inaugural fundraising journey to Cambodia and Laos, which departed in March 2005. A further six trips have travelled to Cambodia and Laos and three trips to India in 2006, 07 and 08 helping raise over $150,000 for the Fund to directly help the Bears. These funds have been used to build the “World Expeditions” veterinary clinic in the grounds of the Phnom Tamao Zoological Gardens and Wildlife Rescue Centre, much needed night dens at the Agra Bear Facility in India and the “eco education centre” helping educate people in Cambodia about the plight of the bears.
Free The Bears Fund was registered as a charity in 1995 by Mary Hutton. The fund is committed to giving 98% of all monies raised to the bears and is run mainly on a voluntary basis. The aim of the fund is to protect, preserve and enrich the lives of bears throughout the world.
World Expeditions is proud to continue our commitment to the Free the Bears Fund Inc by supporting their next fundraising initiative to Laos and Cambodia. This fantastic journey, escorted by Free the Bears representatives, will focus on the incredible work being done in Laos and Cambodia by the Free The Bears Fund and provides a colourful insight into these culturally diverse countries.
This great opportunity combines hands-on visits to the Free the Bears rehabilitation wildlife centres in Laos & Cambodia, where you will be involved in the daily running of the bear sanctuaries. We combine this with visits to the charming cities of Luang Prabang and Phnom Penh and spend three days exploring the incredible temples of Angkor in Cambodia.
